It is far overdue for American citizens to hear the truth about the trajectory of their economic future. Many of our “leaders” state that “we have the strongest economy in the world.” Here is what they are not telling you.
- First, that the gross national debt is $37,000,000,000,000. Yes, that’s a lot of zeros. The interest on that debt is a little over $1 trillion per year. This amount that we pay — without receiving any military equipment, health care or infrastructure investment — will increase each year for our children and ourselves to pay.
- Lawmakers (who haven’t passed a real budget in years) will not tell us that the future of Social Security is bleak at best. Anyone hoping for reelection will not tell us that we will have to make great sacrifices in the future.
- Blaming others will not solve this problem. The sacrifices that are required have to be proportionally allocated across the board. And those who benefited most from this debt-driven economy will make the greatest sacrifice.
The future of our nation depends on acting on this tough reality. Demand that our elected representatives tell us the truth and then devise a plan to address this situation immediately.
