Eight players were assigned to Maine Mariners training camp from the AHL’s Providence Bruins on Tuesday.
Forwards Max Andreev, Ty Cheveldayoff, Robert Cronin, Brooklyn Kalmikov, Lynden McCallum, and Jacob Perreault, along with defenseman Zach Massicotte and goaltender Luke Cavallin have all reported to Mariners camp.
Three of those players — Andreev, Cronin and McCallum — signed ECHL contracts with the Mariners this summer. Cronin and McCallum both played for Maine last season, while Andreev played with the Kansas City Mavericks.
Kalmikov and Massicotte also played for the Mariners last season. Kalmikov was Maine’s leading scorer, with 56 points in 66 games.
Cheveldayoff played six games for the Mariners at the end of the 2023-24 season, before spending last season with the Jacksonville Iceman.
Also Tuesday, forward Jacob Hudson, who was loaned to the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds, was returned to Portland.
