This administration is pushing people out of health care programs to fund tax breaks for the wealthy while undermining trust in vaccines that protect us from deadly diseases. That is not just reckless; it is dangerous.
I know what’s at stake. In the early 1960s, before the measles vaccine, my son contracted the illness. It developed into encephalitis, leaving him comatose and rigid. We feared he would not survive. His recovery was a blessing but no child should endure what he went through. Vaccines make measles preventable yet today’s policies risk exposing children again to illnesses science has already defeated.
Sen. Collins voted to confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr. If she now voices “concern” about his views, it will mean nothing without action. Concern won’t stop outbreaks or save lives. We need leaders who defend science and protect public health — not those who gamble with our children’s future.
