
Nora Brown
A Nora Brown concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington St., Bath.
Brown plays traditional Appalachian music with a focus on banjo playing from Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee. Along with mentors in the northeast like the late John Cohen, she has traveled and learned directly from master musicians including Alice Gerrard, George Gibson and the late Lee Sexton.
Since 2019, she has released four albums on Brooklyn’s own Jalopy Records Label. All records have charted on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts during the first week of release.

Kennebec Valley Chordsmen Show
The Kennebec Valley Chordsmen presents its 2025 annual show at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 60 Eustis Parkway, Waterville.
The event will feature Maine-based talent such as The Maine Idea, a mixed voice quartet that includes local music educators and successful performers of the barbershop style of four-part harmony; The Messalonskee High School Master Singers; and a one time only performance by the quartet Flask In The Pan, and the Kennebec Valley Chordsmen.

A Night Out
Kennebec Behavioral Health is preparing for its 10th annual fundraiser, A Night Out. The event starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at Club Calumet, 334 W River Road, Augusta.
A cocktail hour will kick off the event followed by dueling pianos, a Vegas-style showcase called “Keys to the City” with Jim Ciampi and Seth Holbrook. This request-based sing-along showcase will combine comedy with music.
Raffle tickets can be purchased at the door with cash or card; ages 21-plus only. Attendees can bid on exclusive auction items, with proceeds benefitting the Scholarship Fund, which supports graduating high school students in Maine who are pursuing a degree in the behavioral health field.

Oktoberfest – Opus One Big Band Dance
ArtsFarmington has scheduled a special Oktoberfest Celebration featuring live music by the Opus One Big Band at 7 p.m. Saturday at the North Dining Hall at the University of Maine at Farmington, 111 South St., Farmington.
Attendees can dance to the classic sounds of a swing and big band orchestra.
The band is a collective of professional musicians from across Maine who have performed together for more than 20 years. Under the direction of Daniel Schneider, the band is dedicated to supporting music programs throughout the state through benefit concerts and charitable events.

Colby Symphony Orchestra — Masters of Expression
The Colby Symphony Orchestra — Masters of Expression has planned its inaugural concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts, 5670 Mayflower Hill Drive, Waterville.
The concert will feature three canonical orchestral works: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s overture to the genre-bending Don Giovanni; the mysterious four drum beats that open Ludwig van Beethoven’s spacious Violin Concerto, featuring soloist Minju Kim; and the emotional turbulence of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, Pathetique.

Jay Nash
Jay Nash will perform 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor, 86 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor.
Nash was at the Opera House last year with his duo, The Contenders. This year he returns, in a different duo with Brooks Hubbard.

The Schecks and Anne McKee Concert
Lithgow Public Library will host The Schecks and Anne McKee at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 45 Winthrop St., Augusta.
Scheck, from Switzerland, will perform works for guitar and strings with other members and a friend of the Scheck family. The program focuses on Latin American music, including pieces by Brazilian composers Radames Gnattali and Heitor Villa-Lobos, and ends with Joseph Haydn’s brilliant trio for violin, cello, and guitar.

The Concert: A Tribute to ABBA
The Concert: A Tribute to ABBA is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St., Waterville.
For well over a decade, the band has continued to be a top ABBA tribute group, playing iconic hits including “Mamma Mia,” “S.O.S,” “Money, Money, Money,” “The Winner Takes All,” “Waterloo,” “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” and “Dancing Queen.”
