The top three in the Varsity Maine football poll remains unchanged from last week — Thornton Academy remains No. 1 , Bonny Eagle No. 2 and Cony No. 3 — but new squads fill the next two spots in the top five.

Greely continued its smooth transition back to 11-man football with a 35-14 victory over Wells and moves up two notches into fourth place. Noble has bounced back nicely from a loss to Bonny Eagle on Sept. 26, beating Marshwood and then Sanford. The Knights also jumped up two places and are now fifth.

Westbrook finally caught the voters’ attention. The Blue Blazes, who improved to 5-1 with a 20-0 win over previously unbeaten Kennebunk, join the poll at No. 8. Their matchup with Cheverus on Saturday in Portland is an opportunity to solidify the Class B South standings — or muck them up more.

The Varsity Maine football poll is based on games played before Oct. 14, 2025. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
