As a concerned citizen, I feel compelled to speak out about the troubling direction our country is heading under the leadership of President Donald Trump.
Over the past year, we have witnessed a consistent pattern of behavior that undermines democratic norms, erodes public trust and deepens the divisions across our nation. From inflammatory rhetoric that fuels hatred and spreads misinformation, to policies that appear to
prioritize personal gain over the public good, the Trump administration has demonstrated a disregard for the principles that should define American leadership: honesty, empathy, accountability and service.
Reports indicate that President Trump and his immediate family have personally profited by an estimated $3.4 billion since he assumed office — an unacceptable outcome for a position that is meant to be a solemn responsibility, not a platform for self-promotion.
The presidency must be about uniting rather than dividing, listening rather than lecturing and serving the people rather than oneself. We deserve a leader who will uphold the Constitution, protect the rights of all Americans and represent the very best of our shared values.
I urge my fellow citizens to reflect deeply on what kind of leadership we wish to endorse for the future. Let us stand for truth, for justice, for progress and above all, for the preservation and defense of the Constitution of the United States.
