Although many believe that voter ID is a partisan issue, several polls suggest that is not the case. In at least one recent survey, it was found that 80% of Americans or more support requiring voting individuals to have a photo ID.
Some recent studies show that voter ID laws do not reduce voter turnout. Citizens need to have faith and trust that our election process is fair and accurate, which rests solely on the fact that the identity of those voting are who they say they are. We have lost faith in the outcome. One cannot cash a check, rent a motel room or fly on an aircraft, etc., without showing a photo ID.
A photo ID is important and necessary in that it prevents individuals from impersonating other registered voters or voting under fictitious registrations. Vote “Yes” on Question 1.
