Voting is important and a privilege. We hold the responsibility for our children and grandchildren for a future that is prosperous and free.
Every year I receive voter information to register or apply absentee applications to vote for my grown children, who have not lived here for over 15 years; for the prior owner of my home (who sold it to me 20 years ago); as well as for my deceased brother, who I took care of in my home for a year, though he previously lived out of state and never voted here. I also had the experience that someone with the same name, but different address, was mistaken for me.
That is why, on Nov. 4, I’m voting “Yes” to require voter ID to strengthen our elections for the future of Maine.
