What better visual could there possibly be for Donald Trump’s effect on our country than the image of the East Wing being torn down.
A historically important building, the home of presidents and a national treasure, is being partially demolished, without official governmental review or approval. Trump even lied, in July, when he said that the project would not affect the East Wing and would just be “next to it.”
The destruction of this symbol of our government is only the visible tip of the iceberg when we consider all of the less photographable but still critical ways in which this man is demolishing our governmental structure along with the very Constitution on which it is based. Very sad, especially since the Congress and the judiciary are letting him get away with it.
