Duane Dumont’s Oct. 15 op-ed asked whether I was satisfied with Maine’s state government. At the end of his rant against Maine Democrats and their policies for using our tax dollars, he states, “You may not like President Trump; I don’t. But I do like the results he is pursuing: lower taxes and a nation that is respected again.”
Excuse me? Does Trump mean tax cuts for himself and his billionaire sycophants? And how is he making our nation respected again when it seems he is acting as if he is a king and all the other democratic countries should bow to him as such?
It seems to me that someone so adamantly against Maine and its government should perhaps try to convince family members how much better it would be to have them live in such a lovely Republican-controlled state.
By the way, I am personally much happier living in Maine without some of the past Republican “leaders.” Former Gov. Paul LePage comes to mind right away.
