Steve Collins’ recent column regarding his desire for Graham Platner’s resignation (“Platner should take this opportunity to bow out,” Oct. 23) is yet another frantic, panicked attempt by the stagnant Democratic Party to stick to the status quo in an unprecedented fear of true progression that has corrupted Maine for an amount of time that remains beyond justification.
Collins’ column confirms a suspicion of mine that Democrats are not interested in the progression of our state or nation; they are interested in saying that they can beat Trump, to the point where their own citizens have become an afterthought. They don’t care about us.
Steve Collins claims that we are blinded by unfounded loyalty. I can say the same about him and his commitment to tearing down the first glimpse of hope Maine has seen in quite some time.
