One of the many questions we should be asking during our democracy’s death spiral is why the mainstream media ignores President Trump’s health.

Joe Biden’s obvious health struggle during a debate rang alarm bells and was put on display for weeks. Our current mainstream media avoids ringing those same alarm bells for Trump’s obvious cognitive and physical decline. Late night comedy and independent media seem to be the final holdouts for uncensored reporting.

Amidst an abundance of evidence, a more recent and shocking example was video of Trump being led about by the prime minister of Japan, dazed, shuffling and halting or saluting at nonsensical moments.

We would have endured wall-to-wall speculation if Biden, like Trump, began having “semi-annual” physicals that included unexplained MRI scans. In the meantime, has his physician ever reported a plausible weight and BMI? This lack of even the most basic medical information, while being asked to believe Trump is in “excellent” health, doesn’t inspire trust. Therefore, the choice to reveal he has venous insufficiency, albeit “common for his age,” makes one wonder whether this is a concession to cover for something more significant going on.

The mainstream media didn’t ignore Biden’s health status. In any case, it’s fair to say that focus on the health of the leader of the free world (with access to the nuclear code) is not only appropriate, but essential. Those days appear to be over thanks to billionaire-owned, state-run media.
