Befuddled? Livid? Outraged? How to describe my reaction to Sen. King’s vote on Sunday night to pass legislation that does not guarantee support for the Affordable Care Act. How could he abandon the needed healthcare for so many Maine residents?
As the wealthiest country in the world, I fail to understand why America abandons citizens who depend on assistance to secure health care. I had hoped that Sen. King would recognize that some of his constituents deserve help from our government when medical needs cannot be met from their own incomes.
While President Trump entertains himself watching a football game, Sen. King switches sides and runs with a callous and injurious team of Republicans. What a shattering disappointment.
