Mainers helping Mainers is nothing new, especially around the holidays. Thanksgiving in particular is a time when food drives help families in need stock their pantries, and in some instances, create a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Here are four photos dating back to the 1960s that show Mainers doing what they can to help others experiencing food insecurity.
