Matt DeMelis scored five minutes into overtime as the Worcester Railers handed the Maine Mariners their fourth straight loss, 2-1 in an ECHL game Friday night in Worcester, Massachusetts.
DeMelis also assisted on a power-play goal by Ryan Miotto that snapped a scoreless deadlock late in the second period. The Mariners tied it just 20 seconds later on Andrew Nielsen’s first goal of the season.
Railers goalie Henrik Tikkanen made 34 saves. Maine’s Luke Cavallin scored 27 shots.
