Arnold L. Kelley
HALLOWELL – Arnold L. Kelley, 88, went home to his Lord and Savior on Nov. 17, 2025.
Arnold was born in Beals Island, Maine on July 12, 1937, the son of the late Shirley G. and Etta L. Kelley. He attended local schools and graduated from Jonesport-Beals High School.
For many years, Arnold worked as patient aid at Pine Land, a career which lasted more than twenty-five years.
Arnold was a faithful and devoted member of the Beals Christian Church and Christian Fellowship Church.
When not working Arnold loved sports. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, rarely missing the opportunity to watch a game. He looked forward every year to watching the High School Basketball Tournament at the Bangor Auditorium. Most importantly, Arnold loved his family unconditionally. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him loved him. He was sweet to everyone he knew.
The family would like to thank the Woodlands Senior Living and Maine General Palliative and Hospice Care for the love and support they should to Arnold.
Arnold was predeceased by his loving wife, Wilma Kelley; sister and brother-in-law, Jesse and Betty Merchant Sr., brother-in-law William Tibbetts Sr. Arnold is survived by a sister, Ardis Tibbetts; niece, Laurie (Matthew) Dyer, three nephews, Audwin (Susie) Merchant, David and Jesse Merchant Jr; several great nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours celebrating Arnold’s life will be held on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, ME. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Gardiner, ME.
