Garry Lee Turgeon

NORTH ANSON – Garry Lee Turgeon “Care Bear,” 83, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, with his cherished wife by his side. Garry was born in Madison on June 14, 1942, son to Arnold Russell and Florella Mae (Pomelow) Turgeon. He graduated from Madison High School in 1961 and later attended Orono College.

Garry joined the U.S. Air Force July 1, 1961, proudly serving as an Air Policeman until he was honorably discharged in August of 1963. He was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post #39 in Madison for over 50 years, where he served as Past Commander. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.), the Knights of Columbus, and a parishioner of St. Sebastian Catholic Church.

Garry enjoyed teaching fly fishing at Madison High School, playing card games, and watching television. His kindness and dedication to his community will be remembered by all who knew him.

In 1993, Garry married Judith L. (Withee) Turgeon in Madison.

He is also survived by his son Aaron Eagen, daughter Wendy Goguen (and husband Alan); grandchildren Garrick (and wife Becky) Brown, Zane Brown, Michelle (and husband Ryan) Humprey, Erika Eagen, Sarah Eagen, Silas Eagen, and Ryann Eagen; great-grandchildren Makenna, Brayden, Vivian, Emmett, Penelope, Kartor, Evelyn, and Rosalina; and beloved nieces and nephews Bobby Turgeon, Jeff, Randy, and Patti.

He was predeceased by his sisters Patricia Turgeon and Shirley Washburn, brother Richard Turgeon, and nephew Russell Washburn.

Memorial mass to take place Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church located at 161 Main St, Madison, ME 04950. Graveside service to take place following mass on Dec. 6 at Father Rasle cemetery in Madison.
