Now that the dust has settled on the November 2025 elections, it’s worth noting that — once again — elections in Maine lacked even the allegation of illegal voting that lay at the heart of Question 1.
While perhaps not the best use of time or money to put that question forward in the first place, I hope a silver lining is an increased recognition of the amazing work of Maine’s city and town clerks, their staffs and the many, many volunteers who make exercising that most fundamental of rights possible.
