Thelma “Teddy” (Whitman) Ware

READFIELD – Thelma “Teddy” Whitman Ware passed away on Nov. 22, 2025. She was born March 19, 1937, in Augusta to the late Carl and Laura Whitman of Manchester.

Thelma was a member of Manchester Community Church, she sang in the choir, was on the board of deacons, worship committee and a moderator.

Thelma enjoyed flowers, sewing and crafts. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brothers Carl, Norman, Paul and Timothy Whitman, sisters Priscilla Hippler and Dorothy Veilleux.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Donald C. “Bud” Ware of 69 years; daughter, Pamela (Danny) Ouellette; David (Melissa) Ware of Arizona; Steven (Marilyn) Ware of Readfield and their families. sisters Patricia Rolfe and Harriet Blanche both of Manchester, Debra Gould of Auburn, brothers Carroll Whitman of Manchester and Michael Whitman of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nurse Darby and Certified Nurses Aide Sarah from Andwell Hospice Care, whose kindness helped Teddy and her family feel truly cared for and loved.

Services will be held at a later date.
