Jaxon Desjardins recorded 21 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and five steals as Forest Hills edged Vinalhaven, 46-44, in a boys basketball game Saturday at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield.

Maddox Cuddy added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Forest Hills (2-0), which won in overtime against the Vikings on Friday.

Aiden Farnham scored 27 points and Eli Quinton had 11 for Vinalhaven (0-2).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

FOREST HILLS 31, VINALHAVEN 25: Kelsey Rancourt scored 12 points as the Tigers (2-0) beat the Vikings (0-2) at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield.

Becca Osgood had 12 points for Vinalhaven.

BOYS HOCKEY

LEWISTON 4, CONY 3: Aizyk Laliberte scored with 25 seconds remaining to lift Lewiston/Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse over Cony/Monmouth/Erskine/Mt. Blue/Hall-Dale/Maranacook/Spruce Mountain/Winthrop in a season opener at The Colisee in Lewiston.

Laliberte also assisted on goals by Keegan Schmoll, Lawson Meyer and AJ Kavanaugh.

Jackson Wing scored twice in the third period for the Cony co-op. Alex Leet notched a first-period goal.

Kai Stockford stopped 18 shots for the Blue Devils. Caleb Morgan turned aside 21 shots for the Cony co-op.
