Robert “Bob” Pelletier

HALLOWELL – Robert “Bob” Pelletier, 90, passed away peacefully on Oct. 31, 2025, at Woodlands Assisted Living in Hallowell, Maine.

Born in Berlin, NH, on July 26, 1935, to Alfred and Sadie Pelletier, Bob was the fourth of eight children. He attended Catholic schools and graduated from Notre Dame High School. Afterward, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era.

Athletic and energetic, Bob loved skiing most of all but also enjoyed playing softball and stayed physically fit well into his later years. A devoted fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, he cherished trips to see them play.

Bob’s career reflected his strong work ethic and love of people. He delivered milk and bakery goods in New Hampshire, worked 13 years for Nissen Baking Company in Vermont and Maine, and tended bars for a time while taking on painting and wallpapering jobs.

In the mid-1980s, Bob joined Walters Home and Hillside Terrace—retirement communities owned by Lon Walters—as a maintenance man. What began as a job evolved into lasting relationships. Bob grew to be part of the Walters family and a trusted support in what would become Woodlands Senior Living communities. Known for his reliability, warmth, and tireless willingness to help with any task, Bob was a cornerstone of the organization for nearly 30 years, retiring at age 77.

At 55, Bob became a certified EMT—one of his proudest accomplishments—and used his skills to offer comfort and care to others in need.

He loved animals, especially his dachshund, Emily, and enjoyed many peaceful years at his home on Maranacook Lake in Winthrop. In later life, he lived at Park Residences in Waterville and then at Woodlands Assisted Living of Hallowell—communities he had once helped maintain and support.

Bob was married twice and had three children: a daughter and two sons.

Known for his friendliness, loyalty, and service, Bob Pelletier will be remembered for a life defined by hard work, kindness, and genuine concern for others. The staff at Woodlands Assisted Living showed him great affection and care in his final days—a fitting tribute to a man who spent much of his life doing the same for others.

Bob’s memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 1 p.m. at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church Street, Augusta. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, Maine.

Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Roberts Funeral Home website, http://www.khrfuneralhomes.com.
