Our physical paper carriers wake long before we turn on our coffee pots. They get up early, scratch the dust out of their eyes, drive out, load up and deliver our daily newspaper to us. It’s done in the dark, quiet parts of the morning.

It’s an amazing and cherished service. We wake from our night’s slumber, turn on the coffee pot, adventure into the weather and pick up our newspaper. It’s part of our daily rhythm. It’s what we do. We sit, afterwards, reading in one of the few quiet moments of the day. It’s a time to really think about what is going on in our state and our world. And it would not have happened if our paper carrier had failed in their job.

Remember our carriers this holiday season. Tips are, of course, are always welcome. But a nice note would be very appreciated.
