Last winter’s Class AA state finalists top this season’s first Varsity Maine boys basketball poll. Windham, which won the state title, is ranked first, while runner-up South Portland is second.

The latest round of reclassification eliminated Class AA in favor of a larger Class A. Camden Hills and Mt. Blue were among the teams who merged from the state’s second-largest class into the largest class this winter, but strong starts have the Windjammers ranked fourth and the Cougars ninth.

The Varsity Maine boys basketball poll is based on games played before Dec. 9, 2025. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
