Norman Joseph Rodrigue

AUGUSTA – Norman Joseph Rodrigue, 82, of Augusta, passed away Dec. 5, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing.

He was born July 23, 1943, in Augusta, to Joffrine (Veilleux) and Clairmont Rodrigue.

He was a Cony High School graduate, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his time as a Seabee. Upon finishing, he worked at Togus VA and took night classes to obtain his Journeyman Electrician license. He worked his entire career as a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1253. “See you on the next big one”. He worked on and traveled to many New England area mills and plants.

Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his dune buggies, with many trips to Northern Maine with family and friends. Music was a passion. Anyone driving by his house was treated to Old-time rock and roll, with the occasional blues thrown in, blasting from his windows.

He is predeceased by his parents and a nephew, Allen.

Norman is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Allen) Bernier, and one son, Jeremy (Tina) Rodrigue; four grandchildren: Christopher, Aaron (Deliliah), Lexie (Justin) and Kyle (Sara); three great-grandchildren: Beckett, Harper and Asa – with two more on the way in 2026; two brothers: Raymond and Lionel Rodrigue, and one sister, Lucille (Keith) Chipman; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and the mother of his children, Rachel Siviski.

Thank you to all who helped in his care, DAV, Togus VA, MGMC, HBPC team, Caregivers Mikayla, Inez, Sue and Mary. A very special thank you to Denise, who allowed him to stay in his home until the end.

A period of visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 75 Northern Ave., Augusta, ME 04330. Interment with military honors will follow at Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME in Section J.
