Jaxson Desjardins scored 45 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter and eight in overtime, to lead Forest Hills to a 62-56 comeback win over Islesboro in a Class S boys basketball game Thursday at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield.
Forest Hills (4-0) trailed 37-29 entering the fourth quarter. Maddox Cuddy helped the comeback by scoring seven of his 10 points in the fourth.
Aaden Nadeau added six points and 10 rebounds.
Jaykob Zollman scored 16 points, and Ryder Durkee and Finley Conover each had 15 for Islesboro.
WINTHROP 53, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 49: Graham Huri paced the Ramblers (2-1) with 16 points in a win over the Seagulls (1-2) in Winthrop.
Joshua Foster added 14 and Korbin Littler chipped in with 11.
Trot Moody recorded 24 points for the Seagulls.
ERSKINE ACADEMY 55, LINCOLN ACADEMY 44: Gavin Fanjoy led a balanced attack as Erskine Academy (2-1) beat Lincoln Academy (1-2) in South China.
Fanjoy scored 14 points, while Carter Ulmer had 10 and Cam Coutts and Wyatt Michaud both had nine for Erskine.
Chase Ober had 15 points and Aidyn Herring had 10 for Lincoln.
PINE TREE ACADEMY 92, TEMPLE ACADEMY 28: Collin Verrill scored 26 points, including six 3-pointers, as the Breakers (1-1) rolled past the Bereans (0-4) in Waterville.
Lucky Kabeya and Rhett Tyson each finished with 15 points for Pine Tree. Kabeya made five 3-pointers.
Timeo Lepaix led Temple with 10 points.
LISBON 61, WATERVILLE 55: Owen Hurd paced the Greyhounds (2-1) with 26 points in a win over the Panthers (0-3) in Waterville.
Jaxson Roy-Thompson chipped in 20 points for Lisbon.
Simeon Thorne and Derek Couture each finished with 16 points for Waterville, while Eli Cullen scored 12.
MADISON 55, WINSLOW 41: Jacob Linkletter drained six 3-pointers and scored 28 points to lead the Bulldogs (2-0) over the Black Raiders (1-2) in Madison.
Finn Haynie added 11 points and Davyn Nichols 10 for Madison, which lost starter Brayden Furbush to an injury early in the game.
Carter Calvo was Winslow’s top scorer with 14 points, and Jack Flaherty and Noah Harding each scored nine.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 87, MT. ABRAM 57: Levi Laverdiere fueled a first-half outburst with 17 of his 25 points, and the Mustangs (1-2) rolled past the visiting Roadrunners (2-1) in a clash of expected Class D South contenders.
Laverdiere scored 13 points in the second quarter, including three 3-pointers, as Monmouth turned a 19-8 lead after one quarter into a 48-21 advantage at halftime.
Gavin Parsons added 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Tyler Day chipped in with 12 points.
Brennan Mitchell was the lone Roadrunner in double figures, with 22 points.
OAK HILL 61, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 49: Keeghan Morrissette led the Raiders (1-1) with 17 points in a victory over the Falcons (0-3) in Rumford.
Braden Dubuc chipped in with 12 points and PJ Smith finished with 10.
Blake Small led Mountain Valley with 20 points.
MARANACOOK 54, MOUNT VIEW 53: Luke Tinckham scored a basket off a steal from Gage Mattson with five seconds remaining to give the Black Bears (3-0) a win over the Mustangs (2-1) in Thorndike.
Mattson led Maranacook with 23 points, while Ethan Chilton added 10.
Stuart Knowlton led Mount View with 21 points, and Brady Bryant had 10.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
FOREST HILLS 50, ISLESBORO 28: Melynda Worster scored 10 of her 14 points in the first quarter, starting the Tigers (4-0) on their way to a win over the Eagles (0-2) at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield.
Janessa Moffitt and Kesley Rancourt each added 10 points for Forest Hills.
Chloe Bennett and Icelynn Delaney led Islesboro with 10 points apiece.
LAWRENCE 59, MESSALONSKEE 24: Maddie Provost scored 18 points in the first half on her way to a 26-point performance as the Bulldogs (2-0) rolled to victory over the Eagles (1-2) in Oakland.
Ashley Shores scored 11 of her 15 points in the first half for Madison, which led 35-8 at halftime.
Leah Adams topped Messalonskee with 10 points, while Addie Hafford contributed eight points.
OAK HILL 51, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 21: Freshmen Grace Lough and Scarlett Mooney combined for 40 points in the Raiders’ (2-0) home win over the Falcons (0-3) in Wales.
Lough led the way with 22 points and Mooney put up 18. Both players made a pair of 3-pointers.
Madison Blanchard was Mountain Valley’s top scorer with 10 points.
LISBON 33, WATERVILLE 32: Hannah Perron scored 16 points to lead the Greyhounds (2-1) past the Panthers (0-3) in Lisbon.
Liz Ferero added 12 points for Lisbon.
Danikah Harrison, Roselyn Martin and Hailey Snipe each finished with seven points for Waterville.
WINTHROP 50, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 43: Kylee Mansir scored 12 of her 15 points in the second half as the Ramblers (2-1) overcame a 28-14 halftime deficit against the Seagulls (1-2) in Old Orchard Beach.
Evelyn Mortimer contributed 12 points, and Bella Baehr and Kylee Savage each had nine for Winthrop, which climbed back into the game with an 18-7 edge in the third quarter, then closed out the comeback with an 18-8 advantage in the fourth.
Corinne Androkitis led the Seagulls with 18 points. Androkitis and Megan Dow (11 points) each made three 3-pointers.
MARANACOOK 49, MOUNT VIEW 48: Celia Bergdahl scored 28 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Black Bears (3-0) over the Mustangs (2-1) in Readfield.
Jackie Clarke scored eight points, while Alice Ferran added seven.
Madison Bennett led Mount View with 18 points. Emma Hurd scored 10.
GARDINER 61, NOKOMIS 26: Alexa Quintana scored 12 points and had six rebounds to lead the Tigers (2-1) past the Warriors (0-3) in Gardiner.
Zoey Sullivan-Brennan scored 11 points and Lexi Ouellette added eight points for Gardiner.
Reagan King led Nokomis with 18 points.
GIRLS HOCKEY
GREELY CO-OP 2, WINSLOW CO-OP 1: Charley Louie made 57 saves as Greely/Gray-New Gloucester (1-4) beat Winslow/Gardiner/Cony/Lawrence/Messalonskee/Maranacook/Erskine (2-3-1) at Family Ice Center in Falmouth.
Laiken Cooney gave Greely a 1-0 lead in the first period, and Dahlia Irving-Davis made it 2-0 early in the second.
Josephine Kelley scored an unassisted goal for the Black Tigers later in the second period.
