Frances M. Plante

WINSLOW – Frances M. Plante, 100, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2025, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. Born in Benton on Nov. 24, 1925, she was the daughter of John and Odila (Pouliot) Hebert.

On Aug. 13, 1949, Frances married the love of her life, Norman Plante, with whom she shared many wonderful years. A longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow, she lived a life guided by faith, generosity, and devotion to her family.

Frances had a remarkable spirit and jovial personality. Known for her independence and determination, she remained healthy and active, continuing to drive herself right up until September of this year.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman, her parents, and all her siblings: Rene Hebert, Sylvia Labbe, Antoinette Rice, Yvette Hebert, Donald Hebert, and Rita Hebert. She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews: Ronald Hebert, Jane Aikens, Paul Labbe, Priscilla Giroux, David Rice, Cecile Nason, Michael Rice, Jennifer Dupont, Mark Hebert, Chispa Derrico, Trish Ballard, and Mary Bedard.

Honoring her wishes, a private graveside service will be held at St. Francis Cemetery in Waterville. Frances will be remembered for her strength, and unwavering love for family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice in Frances’s honor.
