Tina Marie Smith Vickery
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – On Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, Tina Marie Smith Vickery, 65, of San Antonio, Texas, previously of Winslow, Maine, passed away after a long illness.
Before moving to San Antonio, Tina had lived in Paris, Texas, for several years. During that time, she worked for Walmart as a cashier and made many friends there.
Tina was born July 16, 1960, in Gardner. She graduated from Winslow High School, class of 1978. She continued her education at University of Maine in Orono. She was a member of the First Congressional Church in Winslow. She worked for the State of Maine and Walmart in Waterville.
Tina’s greatest passion was researching genealogy–her own and helping others with theirs along with her good friend, Betsy Mills. She was a member of the Lamar County (Texas) Genealogical Society, where she served as a librarian until her health forced her to quit. However, she continued helping others by serving as co-editor of the Society’s Annual publication, writing several articles every year. As part of the USGenWeb Project, she helped provide free genealogical and historical information about every county in the United States. Tina served as State Coordinator for MEGenWeb and WIGenWeb. She served on the Board of Directors holding the office of National Coordinator, Representative-at-Large, and County Coordinator Representative. She also served on the Election Committee for several terms. She left quite a legacy in the genealogy world.
She was predeceased by her parents Victor E. and Florence Fitton Lewis; and her twin brother, Richard Dale Smith (Charlie Lewis).
She is survived by her sisters Jean Lewis Wynne and her children, Randy and Kiley Wynne and their families; and Donna Lewis Boutin and her children, Bryan Dionne, Cori Dionne, Trevor Boutin, and Bethany Boutin Mosher, and their families. She will also be remembered by her Vickery family.
A memorial service will be held later, details to be announced. Burial will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery in Clinton.
