Thornton Academy jumped to the top of the Varsity Maine boys hockey poll following a week that featured a 5-1 win over the Lewiston co-op, which was ranked fifth last week, and an 11-0 victory over Kents Hill/Oceanside in a rematch of last season’s Class A title game.

Fryeburg/Lake Region/Oxford Hills is one of the few unbeaten teams in Class A, which has garner the IceCats three first-place votes and moved them into the rankings at No. 3. They are the only team without a loss in this week poll.

The other team joining the rankings is No. 4 Windham co-op, whose only setback this season was to the IceCats.

The Varsity Maine boys hockey poll is based on games played before Dec. 16, 2025. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
