Daniel F. LeClair
OAKLAND – It is with deep love and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Daniel F. LeClair, of Oakland, Maine. He was a wonderful man who embraced life with extraordinary joy and genuine kindness. He left this world too soon on Nov. 30, 2025, at the age of 71. In his last days, he was surrounded and celebrated by those who cherish him the most.
Dan was born on May 14, 1954, raised in Waterville, Maine, by his parents Stanley and Jeanne LeClair. He had recently retired as President/Owner of Central Maine Crate, a family-owned company. In recent years, he and his wife, Jan, spent winters in Fort Myers where he made wonderful friendships and was happily involved in the community.
Our beloved Dan lived life simply yet fully. His easy smile, natural warmth and welcoming spirit drew people to him wherever he went. He had a gift for making others feel seen and valued, whether sharing a story, offering encouragement or simply being present. To know him was to experience true authenticity.
A devoted family man, Dan treasured time with his loved ones above all else. His friendships were equally as important to him and he nurtured them with sincerity, loyalty and his one-of-a-kind sense of humor. He loved good conversation, good company and the simple joys of life – from working on his tractor, sharing adventures with his wife, having a good meal with family and friends, walking his beloved dogs, Facetiming with loved ones, or catching a grandkid’s basketball game.
He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, joy, and genuine connection. Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted by the countless memories he gave us – memories that will continue to inspire and bring us strength.
Dan is survived by his wife, Janet LeClair; daughter Brooke Beal, sons Mark LeClair (Amy), David LeClair (Susan), Scott LeClair (Talia), Eric Taylor (Shannon); siblings Leo and Jim LeClair, Nancy Marshall, Tina Gagnon and Diana Combellick; his beloved grandchildren Avery, Daniel and Grayson Beal, Ciara, Brock, Alyssa, Cobe, Hannah and Cooper LeClair, Charlotte and Juliana Taylor; as well as his four great grandchildren; along with many dear friends who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held in Maine at a later date, where all who loved him are welcome to gather, share stories and honor the remarkable man he was.
His presence will be profoundly missed, however his love and light will remain with us always.
