Casey Ford Grant

PALMYRA – Casey Ford Grant, 29, died on Dec. 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born on Oct. 16, 1996, the son of John Grant and Teena (Lessard) French. He graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 2015. He had many health challenges throughout life, but he did not let it affect his endless smile, his personality that left a lasting impression, or his genuine heart of gold.

Casey loved all kinds of emergency related vehicles. He was an honorary lieutenant of the Waterville and Winslow Fire Departments and was even the Grand Marshall in the Winslow parade. He won many gold medals with the Special Olympics and attended Pine Tree Camps for several years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, day trips with his mom, and going out to eat at restaurants, especially if they served raw oysters. He always enjoyed meeting new people and made friends wherever he went. He loved traveling throughout the country and had a special bond with his step dad, Peter.

Casey was so very special to many people, but his relationship with his mom outshined them all. His memory will forever be in her heart.

He is survived by his mom, Teena French and his stepdad, Peter; his step mom, Ann Weitz; siblings: Lilly and Miquel; aunts: Amy Grant, Kathy (Roland) Constable, Donna Kitchens, and Georgia Rancourt; uncles: Mark Lessard, Alan Lessard, Paul French, and Mike Leary; special cousins: Kaylee and Cory; several other cousins; and many special friends.

He was predeceased by his father, John Grant; and grandparents: Melvin and Alice Lessard, Freda “Gee Gee” Grant, Thomas Grant, and Ricky and Gemma French.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at MaineGeneral, especially his favorite nurse, Barbara Pleau.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2025, in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Route 152, Hartland.
