Susan Alice Blesch
RENO, Nev. – Susan Alice Blesch died Dec. 10, 2025, in Reno, Nevada, at age 84.
Susan was born April 17, 1941, in Augusta, to Albert and Rose Wuerfel and grew up mostly in Winthrop. She went to Carnegie College in Cleveland to become a medical assistant and lived in Hawaii, Lisle, Ill., and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. before moving to Reno, where she worked for Allergy and Asthma Associates for many years. After earning a master’s degree in therapy and educational psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno, she practiced as a marriage and family therapist in Las Vegas, Lincoln County, Ore., and Surprise, Ariz., before returning to Reno in 2022.
Susan loved spending time by the ocean in her native Maine and again when she lived in Oregon, where she often walked on the beach with (and ran after) her Brittany Spaniel, Maggie. She also was a lifelong learner and continued to expand her knowledge and skills as a therapist while continuing to see clients until this fall.
She will be remembered and missed by her many friends and former colleagues; her sons, Stephen and Gregory Blesch; her sister, Jacqueline Schultze; and her three grandchildren, Ethan, Drew and Lauren.
