Lionel C. Clark
MOSCOW – Lionel C. Clark, 85, of Moscow, Maine, passed away on Dec. 18, 2025, surrounded by his four daughters.
Born May 30, 1940 in Moscow to Laurel and Mary (Pooler) Clark. Lionel was known for his exceptional skills as a Class A mechanic and his entrepreneurial spirit. Over his lifetime, he built and operated several businesses – Clark’s garage, diner, minimart and hardware store earning a reputation for fairness and dedication to his community.
Dad loved deer hunting and spending time outdoors. He looked forward to the deer that came out most nights to visit him and all the many birds that had a home and a meal at his back deck. He also enjoyed spending time on his tractor, though most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Lionel was predeceased by his parents Laurel and Mary (Pooler) Clark; sister, Faylene (Woodard) Corson, brother, Larry Clark; special cousin, Loren (and wife Pearl) Ayer; son-in-law, Chad Hebert; and niece, Lorilei (Woodard) Stewart.
He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Hebert, Kimberly (and husband James) Willette, Stephanie Lorom, and Nicole Clark; grandchildren, January and Nathan Poulin, Mickayla and Dylan Willette, Brianne (Luke) Lorom and Lyndsie (John) Lorom, Timothy (and wife Ruth) Pooler, and Aspen Merry; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Kelsie Walter, Gabrielle, Mirabelle, and Decatur Morrison, Eleanor Pooler and Noah Poulin.
Lionel had many great friendships through the years, friend/caregiver Liz Brochu, and his longtime friend Clark Sherman who rarely let a week go by without a visit. Lionel was close with all his nephews and nieces; he most definitely was happiest when family were around.
His family would like to thank all the nursing staff at the Maine Veterans home for their gentle and respectful way of caring for him in his last couple of weeks living there.
A service will be held on Jan. 3, 2026, 11 a.m. at Solon Congregational Church. Visiting hours are Jan. 2, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Giberson Funeral Home in Bingham. A graveside burial will be held in the spring.
