Stephanie Eileen (Brooks) Truman
SOUTH GARDINER – Stephanie Eileen (Brooks) Truman passed away on Dec. 19, 2025, following a brief illness. She passed peacefully as she lived her life, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born on March 5, 1963, to Donald and Walda Kay Brooks in Wichita, Kan.
Stephanie lived a selfless, beautiful life. She spent her entire career as a nurse, specializing in mental health. She was the owner of Amethyst Training and Consulting, where she had the opportunity to train many people throughout the state to work with people in a kind and compassionate manner. She was a well-respected professional, not afraid to question people’s beliefs to encourage them to be the best they could be while working with vulnerable populations.
When she wasn’t working, you could often find her on the sidelines of one of her children or grandchildren’s sporting events. She was always the loudest Mom and Nana cheering on her player and left no room for distraction when she was focused on that field. She was always ready to help her children with anything the grandkids needed or wanted.
Stephanie enjoyed her time at camp with her husband, going out for boat rides or simply sitting on the catwalk enjoying the views and the sun. She loved to take care of their home with great care and consideration, working hours in the gardens, cooking or baking. She loved to travel anywhere with her husband, taking great adventures all over the world. Stephanie would follow her husband to the ends of the Earth and come home with great stories to share. She prided herself in her love and loyalty to her family and loved without limitations.
Stephanie’s spirit and legacy will live on through her husband, Barry Truman; children Jessica and husband Cecil Solaguren, Jennice and husband Cody Dawson, and Jacob and wife Bailey Truman; grandchildren Kaycie and husband Codey Bell, Trevor, Brantley and Lilliana Dawson, Holdyn and Mason Robinson; and great-grandchildren Brantley and Jamison Bell; mother Walda Kay Brooks; many brothers and sisters by blood, marriage and spirit; nieces, nephews and friends.
Visiting hours celebrating Stephanie’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private in the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta.
