How has such despicable, mean, unhinged, selfish, untruthful behavior coming from anyone — let alone the head of our country — become OK with so many people?

Remember the McCarthy hearings, when something called decency actually mattered?Remember the importance of moral character, when ethical behavior was more expected and respected? When honesty had value? When ranting and endless lies, wide-open misogyny and bigotry were not tolerated by our society, or at least frowned upon and fought against?

Remember when our country welcomed people of other races and nationalities and benefited from their contributions? Our “leader” models reprehensible behavior, and it seems to get worse and more loathsome by the day, (e.g., the Rob Reiner comment) and too many in Congress and his appointed heads of departments seem to be just fine with it — accepting the lowest possible bar and sometimes following along in their own behavior.

From his actions, behavior and lies, it’s clear that Donald Trump (and his equally odious cronies) could care less about our country and people. He is all about himself, his power, his money.

I have never been more ashamed of our country.
