John Joseph Sigersmith
MERCER – John Joseph Sigersmith passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 26, 2025. Born on Oct. 9, 1949, in Connecticut, John spent much of his life in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, with his beloved wife, Lucy before later settling in Maine.
John dedicated 39 years of his career to Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, where he worked as an inspector with pride, integrity, and an unwavering work ethic. Known as the straight shooter – honest, direct, and never afraid to share his opinion – John earned the respect of all who worked alongside him.
He shared 35 wonderful years of marriage with Lucy, the love of his life. Their relationship was built on devotion, loyalty, and mutual respect, and their bond was evident to all who knew them.
Above all, John cherished his children and grandchildren. His love for his family was steadfast, and his presence brought strength and comfort to their lives.
John touched countless lives and will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
