Oral D. Tibbetts Jr.
FARMINGTON – Oral D. Tibbetts, Jr., 71, of Jay, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was born on Sept. 11, 1954, in Augusta, the son of Oral D. Tibbetts, Sr. and Helen (Diamond) Tibbetts.
He was a 1972 graduate of Winthrop High School and continued his education at Thomas College for paralegal and business. On July 4, 2018, he married Carol A. (Norton) Pillsbury.
Oral worked as a self-employed disability representative. He was a member of the Winthrop American Legion. Oral enjoyed watching the Celtics, Red Sox and New York Giants, traveling and golfing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he was a great softball player and bowler, and he coached little league baseball and basketball up to the middle school ages. Above all else he especially loved watching his children and grandchildren events and sports.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Tibbetts of Jay; sons, Brian Tibbetts and fiancée Ashley of Winslow, Eric Tibbetts and wife Lisa of Sidney, Scott Maberry and wife Angel of Wilton, and Shaun Maberry and partner Libby of Livermore Falls, his daughters, Tracey Tibbetts of Raymond, Theresa Tibbetts of Kansas, and Stephanie Maberry of Jay; 16 grandchildren, Nick, Brieanna, Sophie, Kaden, Riley, Sadie, DJ, Gabby, Chloe, Whitney, Charlotte, Amelia, Chase, Sydney, Jack and Noah; and great-granddaughter, Navy.
He was predeceased by his parents; grandchildren, Dakoda Maberry and Scott Maberry, Jr.; brothers, David and Michael Tibbetts, sisters, Caroline Weymouth, Mary Burgess, Sue Corbin, and Kate Bourough.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7 at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment in the spring at Pleasant View Cemetery, 51 Fayette Road, Livermore Falls, Maine.
