Brady Peacock scored 20 points, and Luke Whalen got 11 of his 15 points in the second half as Gardiner pulled away for a 60-36 win over Erskine Academy in a Class B North boys basketball game Monday in South China.
Gardiner (7-1) broke open a close game by outscoring Erskine 40-18 in the second half.
Erskine (6-2) was paced by Gavin Fanjoy with 12 points and Wyatt Michaud with 10.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
HAMPDEN ACADEMY 56, LAWRENCE 45: The Broncos (7-1) held the Bulldogs (6-2) to four points in the fourth quarter on their way to a win in Fairfield.
Katelyn Adams and Grace LaBree each scored 15 points for Hampden, which led 42-41 entering the fourth quarter.
Maddie Provost scored 11 points and Ashley Shores had 10 for Lawrence.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 42, MARANACOOK 30: Natasha McDonald scored 16 points to lead the Phoenix (9-0) over the Black Bears (6-3) in Readfield.
Alaina Kachnovich scored eight points, while Lily Bellerose and Maddie Grimaldi each added six.
Alice Ferran led Maranacook with 12 points. Celia Bergdahl finished with 10 points and 15 rebounds.
