Brayden Elliott and Luke Whalen combined for 17 points during a third-quarter surge that propelled Gardiner to a 75-67 win over Poland in a boys basketball game Wednesday at Poland.
Elliott got nine of his 14 points in the third quarter as Gardiner (8-1) opened a 55-48 lead that grew to as large as 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Whalen led the Tigers with 25 points. Brady Peacock added 10.
Poland got 25 points from Nick Jamo and 20 from Jake Jamo.
