Way to compound your transgressions! In a recent letter to the editor, a reader reasonably called out the paper for excessive, slanted coverage favoring Graham Platner and a lack of attention to other Senate candidates like Gov. Janet Mills. And, the editors undermine the message by running the letter under a large photo of (only) Platner above a headline that begins with “Newspaper’s love of Platner.”
Of course, the second part of the headline does (accurately) say “is irresponsible,” but the takeaway for anyone glancing at the paper is the paper’s love of Platner — combined with a flattering photo of its anointed one.
