Brandon Saigeon’s goal with 22 seconds left in overtime lifted the Reading Royals to a 4-3 win over the Maine Mariners in an ECHL game Sunday in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Maine (14-10-5-1) earned five out of a possible six points from Reading over the weekend following wins Friday and Saturday.
After Reading pulled its goaltender for an extra attacker, Connor McMenamin scored with 2:26 left in the third period to tie the game at 3.
Max Wanner, Antonio Venuto and Jacob Perreault scored for the Mariners, while Jeremy Michel scored twice for the Royals.
Keith Petruzzelli made 28 saves in goal for Reading, and Maine’s Luke Cavallin made 35 stops.
