Dana Parsons Sr.

AUGUSTA – Dana Parsons, Sr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on Oct. 30, 1950, in Solon, Maine, the son of Marcus Mayland and Maxine Parsons, Dana lived a life marked by quiet strength, dedication, and love for his family. He was especially proud of his role as a father and grandfather, and his devotion to those he loved never wavered.

Dana proudly served in the Air National Guard for 38 years and traveled to countries all over the world. His devotion to the military made an impact on his grandson, Tyler, who joined the Air National Guard to follow in his footsteps. In addition to his military service he spent more than 20 years working at Digital, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and knowledge. He took pride in his work and valued the relationships he built over the years. In his later years, he continued working in a maintenance role, taking pride in staying active, useful and dependable right up until the end of his working career.

Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and he found meaning in the everyday moments shared with those closest to him.

He will be remembered for his stories, patience and desire to teach and share with those he loved.

In his later years, Dana faced illness with dignity and resilience. He was deeply loved and cared for, and his family is grateful for the compassion shown to him during this time.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Parsons; his daughter Cathy Willard and husband David Willard; grandsons, Tyler Parsons and David Willard, Jr. and granddaughters Winter Parsons and Robin O’Neill. He was predeceased by his son Dana Parsons, Jr.; brother James Parsons; and his parents.

An outdoor celebration of Dana’s life is being planned and will be held later this year at a time and place to be announced.
