MOUNT VERNON – Chris Terrance Ryan, 72, a long-time resident of Mount Vernon, and native of Sudbury, Mass., has passed away. Chris passed away in November while at the home he built according to his own vision on the shores of Long Pond, just outside of Augusta. His neighbors at Long Pond were an integral part of his life.
Chris was born to Guy and Marjorie Ryan and raised alongside brothers Jeffrey and Gary in Sudbury, Mass. Chris enjoyed and showed great talent as a hockey player in his youth, and enjoyed traveling with his siblings on vacations both local and abroad. As a young man, Chris showed an early love for cars, a hobby and passion that would continue for his entire life.
In Maine, Chris found joy in hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing. He kept a close crew of friends, “The Amigos,” who stayed by his side both on and off the golf course. Though Chris often preferred his own company, those who were lucky enough to share his space got to know a thoughtful, funny, intelligent, and deeply caring man.
Chris is survived by his brothers; his nieces, his nephew, and their families. He will be missed by all who got to know him.
We love you, Chris. Until we meet again!
