Jackson Kay sank a pair of free throws to break a tie with less than a minute remaining, lifting Cony to a 79-75 win over Medomak Valley in a Class B crossover boys basketball game Thursday night in Waldoboro.

It was Cony’s second straight win over Medomak in a span of six days, following a 95-89 victory last Friday.

Carter Brathwaite led the Rams (9-2) with 23 points. Kay finished with 19, Parker Morin scored 14 and Ian Lasselle had 12.

Medomak (7-3) was paced by Mason Nguyen with 25 points and Kollin Donlin with 22. Owen Dostie chipped in with 12.

ERSKINE ACADEMY 76, MCI 69: Gavin Fanjoy scored a career-high 34 points, highlighted by seven dunks, as the Eagles (11-2) cruised past the Huskies (4-9) in South China.

Cam Coutts (11 points) and Wyatt Michaud (10) joined Fanjoy in double figures.

Spencer Maloney led MCI with eight points.

PINE TREE ACADEMY 78, FOREST HILLS 65: Lucky Kabeya led a balanced offense with 19 points as the Breakers (10-1) defeated the Tigers (9-4) in Freeport.

Kabeya, who also had five steals, was joined in double figures by Collin Verrill (18 points, five steals), Rhett Tyson (15 points, six steals) and Ben Christman (11). Kabeya and Verrill both made three 3-pointers.

Jaxson Desjardins drained six 3-pointers and finished with 32 points for Forest Hills. Aaden Nadeau added 23 points.

OXFORD HILLS 49, MESSALONSKEE 38: Carson Stevens scored 10 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to help the Vikings (3-9) pull away and beat the Eagles (3-9) in Oakland.

Jackson Stack chipped in 11 points and Cam Pulkkinen had 10 for Oxford Hills.

Jeziah Stone scored 17 points and Sean Achorn added 11 for Messalonskee.

LEAVITT 70, WATERVILLE 32: Colin Schlobohm finished two assists shy of a triple-double, and the Hornets (8-3) handled the Purple Panthers (1-10) in Turner.

Schlobohm racked up 17 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Darren Flagg led Leavitt in scoring with 18 points, and he had five assists and five steals. Jacob Gibb contributed 12 points to the victory.

Jakobe Gagne scored 12 points for Waterville.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

LAWRENCE 58, NOKOMIS 35: Maddie Provost scored 31 points, including seven 3-pointes, as the Bulldogs (8-3) defeated the Warriors (0-12) in Newport.

Payton Cole (11 points) and Ashley Shores also reached double figures for Lawrence. Cole made three 3-pointers.

Raegan King led Nokomis with 26 points.

LEAVITT 60, WATERVILLE 23: The Hornets pulled away by outscoring the Purple Panthers 12-0 in the second quarter, earning a Class B win in Waterville.

Gabby Smith scored 16 points for Leavitt (4-7), and Sophia Poulin finished with 14 points.

Waterville (2-9) was led by Hailey Snipe’s eight points.

HALL-DALE 36, MADISON 28: Sierra Gibbons scored 14 points to lead visiting Hall-Dale (2-9) past Madison (6-6).

Kassidy Benson chipped in with nine points.

Jaelyn Rich scored eight points for Madison.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 34, DIRIGO 30: The Mustangs (5-5) outdueled the Cougars (5-6) to snag a road victory in Dixfield.

Kaitlyn Frost paced Monmouth with 12 points, while Maeve Burgess and Lillian Palleschi added seven points apiece.

Abby Luczynski and Emma Witas led Dirigo with 10 and nine points, respectively.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 70, WINTHROP 19: Four players scored in double figures for the Phoenix (11-1) in their Class C South victory over the Ramblers (7-5) in Jay.

Alaina Kachnovich made four 3-pointers and led Spruce Mountain with 15 points. Lilly Bellerose scored 15 and Maddie Grimaldi and Natasha McDonald each finished with 13 points.

Kylee Savage was Winthrop’s high scorer with eight points.

MT. ABRAM 58, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 17: Abigal McCarty scored 16 points, and the Roadrunners (11-2) beat the Falcons (2-10) in Salem Township.

Stella Peterson added 13 for Mt. Abram, which took a 30-point lead into halftime. The Roadrunners, who are ranked second in the Class D South Heal standings, have won eight straight games

Madison Blanchard scored six points for Mountain Valley.

MARANACOOK 72, LISBON 16: Alice Ferran scored 11 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the Black Bears (11-3) over the Greyhounds (2-9) in Readfield.

Celia Bergdahl scored 26 points and had seven rebounds, while Hadley Farwell added 18 points and five rebounds.

Hannah Perron led Lisbon with nine points.

BOYS HOCKEY

MESSALONSKEE 3, CHEVERUS/YARMOUTH 1: The Eagles (6-2) scored three third-period goals in a victory over Cheverus/Yarmouth (6-3) at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.

Tatum Docette, Denny Martin and Alex Beckwith all found the back of the net. Christian Salvadori notched two assists.

Ben Dumais ended Nathan Kirk’s shutout bid late in the third period. Kirk made 26 saves, while Ashton Additon stopped 17 shots.
