Max Andreev scored 3:33 into overtime, giving the Maine Mariners a 3-2 win over the Worcester Railers in an ECHL game Saturday night at Cross Insurance Arena.

The Mariners snapped a four-game losing streak against Worcester and extended their points streak to six games (4-0-1-1). Maine is 3-7 in overtime and shootouts this season.

A power-play goal by Maine’s Andrew Nielsen opened the scoring just 2:08 into the game. Jesse Pulkkinen tied it 33 seconds into the second period, then the Mariners regained the lead midway through second on goal by Mitch Deelstra. Worcester pulled even again at 8:28 of the third when Drew Callin scored on a power play.

Mariners goalie Brad Arvanitis finished with 23 saves. Worcester’s Parker Gahagen stopped 24 shots.

Earlier Saturday, Maine’s No. 1 goalie, Luke Cavallin, was promoted to Providence of the American Hockey League.

Cavallin played in one game for Providence earlier this season, earning a 7-1 win over Springfield on Dec. 27. For the Mariners, Cavallin is 11-5-3-1 with a 2.30 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.
