Nancy Wing
WATERVILLE – Nancy Wing, 76, of Waterville, passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2026, with her loving husband of 57 years, Christy, by her side.
Born on Jan. 29, 1949, in Waterville, where she spent her life surrounded by family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, known for her wit, warmth, and generous heart.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Geraldine Rodrigue; her brothers Donald and Fernald Rodrigue, her sisters Lorette Steeves and Ann Morneau; and her niece, Jamie Daniels.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Christy Wing, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories. Nancy is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerard and Janine Rodrigue, Ronald and Karen Rodrigue, her brother- and sister-in-law, Sallencie and Roland Taylor, her sisters-in-law Sheila Bartley and Lorna O’Rourke; as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Nancy worked at several local businesses throughout her life, but her later career was devoted to running a daycare from her home. Over the years, she welcomed many children into her care, creating a warm, nurturing environment where each child was treated like family. Her kindness, patience, and loving nature left a lasting impression on both the children she cared for and the families who trusted her.
Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved playing beano and cards with friends and family, sharing laughter and friendly competition. Traveling with Christy was one of her greatest joys, and together they created lasting memories while exploring new places and enjoying cruises side by side.
Above all else, Nancy will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, a caring sister and aunt, and a woman whose gentle spirit and generous heart touched everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through the many lives she nurtured and the family she adored.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m. with a reception immediately following at Notre Dame in Waterville. Nancy will then be interred at 2 p.m. at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery located at 143 Blue Star Ave., Augusta, at the Niche Wall. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember Nancy and the love she shared throughout her life.
