With demonstrators on Maine’s bridges and overpasses still waving their fading Ukrainian flags and “No Kings” signs, it is time to consider what President Trump has done for them and for all Americans.
Under this administration, people earning less than $75,000 will see significant benefits, drug costs for many are being capped, credit card interest could be capped at 10% for those trapped in the never-ending cycle of debt and there have been fewer drug overdose deaths.
For seniors, it’s no tax on Social Security and negotiated price caps on a number of prescription drugs adding up to thousands in potential savings for households. Another proposal would create a $5,000 tax credit for family members giving them care.
For young families, tax relief on tips and overtime, an enhanced child tax credit, an enhanced child and dependent care credit, new authorization of insurance coverage for IVF and the creation of the new Trump retirement account for newborns.
On the employment side, the administration reports that more than 680,000 private sector jobs have been created since Trump took office, and private sector wage growth is at 3.9%.
For all Americans, inflation was down to the lowest in four years last April.
To those with retirement savings in stocks, the market is hitting highs with 2025 returns of roughly 20%. All are safer; drug deaths have dropped 21% in the year ending last August. It looks like a very good year for America. We should be celebrating.
