The Community Regional Charter School in Cornville in Somerset County is participating in the 9th annual WinterKids Winter Games, running from Jan. 13 through Feb. 6.
This year’s theme, HEART, emphasizes caring for personal health and for one another, both physically and emotionally. The theme will guide outdoor learning experiences as students move through weekly focus areas, including physical activity, nutrition, family engagement and winter carnival activities. All are supported by the program’s annual PLAYBook, a resource that provides schools with structured outdoor activities, learning ideas and weekly challenges.
WinterKids, a Maine-based nonprofit organization, helps children develop healthy lifelong habits through education and fun outdoor activity, with a focus on inclusivity, movement and experiential learning that supports children’s physical, social and emotional well-being.
