The Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland/Oxford Hills Red Hornets won a showdown of the top-2 teams in the Varsity Maine girls hockey poll, beating Yarmouth/Freeport 2-1 on Monday. That victory won over every voter, which makes the Edward Little co-op the unanimous No. 1.

Monday’s result, being as close as it was, didn’t affect Yarmouth/Freeport’s No. 2 ranking. In fact, nothing that happened last week impacted the rankings, as the order of the five teams remains the same for the third week in a row.

This is the fourth consecutive poll that consists of these five teams.

The Varsity Maine girls hockey poll is based on games played before Jan. 20, 2026. The top five teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.

1. Edward Little co-op (9) 45
2. Yarmouth/Freeport 35
3. Cheverus co-op 28
4. Biddeford co-op 18
