Brock James of Falmouth scored his first carer goal and Maine beat UMass Lowell 2-0 in a men’s Hockey East game Friday night in Lowell, Massachusetts.
James scored in the first period, with an assist from Nicholas Peluso, to give Maine (13-9-2, 7-7 Hockey East) a 1-0 lead. Charlie Russell made it 2-0 in the second period, assisted by Frank Djurasevic and Sully Scholle.
The win snaps a two-game losing streak for the Black Bears.
Albin Boija stopped 25 shots for Maine. Austin Elliott made 27 saves for UMass Lowell (9-15, 5-9).
