For the second week in a row, the changes to the Varsity Maine girls basketball poll are minor. This time, they’re almost all at the bottom of the top 10. Gray-New Gloucester (seventh) and Biddeford (eighth) both leapfrogged Gardiner. The Patriots, the top team in the Class B South Heal point standings, have won five straight games since suffering their only loss, while Biddeford is on a 10-game win streak after opening the season 3-2. The Tigers’ only losses are to No. 1 Cheverus and No. 3 Sanford.

Camden Hills rejoins the rankings after being absent from the past three polls. The Windjammers have won six in a row and are No. 1 in the A North Heal standings.

The only change in the top six is that Sanford is alone at No. 3 after sharing the spot with Mt. Ararat last week. Cheverus is the unanimous No. 1 for the third consecutive poll.

The Varsity Maine girls basketball poll is based on games played before Jan. 27, 2026. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
